Diamond Sand - Pia Senda
I enjoyed reading this independently-published genre-bending novel, which incorporates elements of science fiction, action adventure, mystery and romance.

The narrative is in the first person - the narrator a tough-talking, tough-acting young woman sent from earth to a human colony deep in space to capture a rebel. The action doesn't lag, the dialogue is snappy and there are some lovely descriptive passages.

Overall, this novel held my interest. I like that the author has done something different and hasn't written to a set of rules. That in itself is something to be applauded. In addition, she has given the narrator a believable, strong voice and constructed an interesting plot.

Recommended for readers who like something a bit different and who are tolerant of strong language and fairly explicit sex scenes.
